Jaw plates are the main wear-resistant parts of a jaw crusher, and can be categorized into fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate. When a jaw crusher is working, the movable jaw is attached to the plate in a compound pendulum motion, forming an angle with the fixed jaw to compress the stone. Therefore, compared with other parts of a jaw crusher, jaw plate can be easily damaged.
Depending on the model of the jaw crusher, there are various types and sizes of jaws.Made of new high manganese steel, super high manganese steel, or ultra-strong high manganese steel, among others, they are applicable for jaw crushers of different specifications.
The jaw crusher is composed of the working chamber formed by the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate. The movable jaw plate and fixed jaw plate are subject to huge crushing force and friction of materials, so they are easy to wear out. In order to protect the jaw plate, a wear-resistant liner is generally installed on the surface of the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate, which is also called the crushing plate. The surface of the crushing plate is usually tooth-shaped, and the angle of the tooth peak ranges from 90° to 120°, determined by the nature and size of the material to be crushed. When large pieces of material are crushed, the angle should be larger. While for small pieces of material, the angle can be smaller. The tooth pitch depends on the particle size of the product, which is usually approximately equal to the width of the outlet. The ratio of tooth height to tooth pitch can be 1/2-1/3.
When it is working, the upper and lower parts of the crushing plate wear at different speeds. The lower part wears faster than the upper part. When the jaw crusher is working, the crushing plate is in direct contact with the material, bearing the huge crushing force and the friction of the material. The service life of a crushing plate is directly related to the working efficiency and production cost of the jaw crusher, so it is especially important to extend its service life. To that end, improvements can be made in design, material selection, assembly and operation.
