The operation of the jaw crusher is the extrusion crushing of the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate. During the crushing process, the wear of the jaw plate is relatively large, especially when hard materials are encountered, the degree of crushing will become more serious. Where is the jaw used? How to reduce the wear of the jaw plate and increase the utilization rate of the crusher? Let’s follow Shanvim to see what methods can be used to reduce wear and tear.
1. The selection of jaw plates is the first factor that determines the service life.
The jaw plate should be made of materials with high hardness to resist the damage caused by extrusion micro-cutting, and materials with sufficient toughness to resist fatigue damage caused by drilling impact. High manganese steel contains 12% manganese and 14% manganese and is often used to form jaw plates. The jaw plate of the small jaw crusher can also be made of white cast iron. At the same time, the structure of the jaw plate can be improved and the relative sliding between the material and the jaw plate can be reduced. Since the jaw plate is usually made into an upper and lower symmetrical shape, a worn lower jaw plate can be turned upside down during minor repairs.
2. The crushed materials must be suitable for the whole machine
When the performance of each batch of materials fluctuates greatly, the main parameters of the crusher, such as clamping angle, eccentric shaft speed, output power, motor power, etc., should be adjusted in time to adapt to the material requirements of the feeding crusher and reduce the jaw plate wear.
3. Methods to repair jaw plate
For worn jaw plates, the tooth profile can be repaired by surfacing welding. Arc welding or automated submerged arc cladding can be used for repairs.
4. The movable and fixed jaw plate can be interchanged with each other.
Cement companies that use mine crushing process lines can replace worn jaw plates in coarse crushing in mines and fine crushing in cement plants, and continue to play a role in replacing new jaw plates.
5. When installing the jaw plate, it must be tightened
The newly installed jaw plate should be tightened to ensure smooth contact between the jaw plate and the surface of the machine body (moving and fixed jaw plate). Plastic materials such as lead plates, plywood, cement mortar, etc. can be used between the two sides. The assembly requirement of the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate is that the red peak of the jaw plate is aligned with the tooth groove of the other jaw plate, that is, the movable jaw plate and the fixed jaw plate are in a basic meshing state.
