(1) The lubricant has strong stability. The volume of the jaw crusher and the volume of the oil tank are small, the amount of lubricant installed is also small, and the oil temperature is high during operation, which requires the lubricant to have good thermal stability and oxidation resistance.
(2) The lubricant is anti-corrosion and can withstand pollution. Because the working environment of the jaw crusher is harsh, with a lot of coal dust, rock dust, and moisture, the lubricant is inevitably polluted by these impurities, so the lubricant is required to have better anti-rust, anti-corrosion, and anti-emulsification properties. When polluted, its performance will not change too much, that is, the sensitivity to pollution is small.
(3) The lubricant is less affected by temperature. The jaw crusher works in the open air, the temperature changes greatly in winter and summer, and the temperature difference between day and night is also large in some areas. Therefore, it is required that the viscosity of the lubricant changes with the temperature to be small. It is necessary to avoid the viscosity of the oil becoming too low when the temperature is high. The lubricating film cannot be formed, the lubricating effect cannot be achieved, and the viscosity is too high when the temperature is low, so that it is difficult to start and run.
(4) The lubricant has good flame resistance. For some machinery, such as jaw crushers, which are often used in mines prone to fire and explosion accidents, it is required to use a lubricant with good flame resistance (fire-resistant fluid), and flammable mineral oil cannot be used.
(5) The sealing performance of the lubricant is good. The lubricant used in the jaw crusher has better adaptability to the seals to avoid damage to the seals.
